Animal trash talk

The animals here are double the size than in Vancouver. Seriously, squirrels look like raccoons, and raccoons look like bears (exaggerating, just for the record). I don’t think this is because people waste food here, they do it everywhere, but I’m starting to think these wild creatures roam in our houses while we sleep. Sadly, we can’t get a restraining order against them, and why should we? They’re so cute! I wish I could adopt them all, but I’m afraid they’ll destroy my things (yea, because they would definitely go for my favourite nail polish, instead of my flesh). Then again, maybe our trash really is their treasure. They must be very optimistic creatures to make the most out of what they find in our trash cans.

There are birds I’m glad I don’t get to see here; seagulls and crows. I mind them because they have the audacity to steal your food right out of your hands. Those demons with wings terrorize the parks and harbours with their feathered pride. I’m so happy I can enjoy a walk without them proudly pinching my sandwich with their pestilent feet.

Okay, that second paragraph was a short rant :p. But, yes the animals are a bit bigger here. The other night I saw a raccoon crossing the street and I thought it was a small bear cub. Perhaps, I just imagined it, I don’t know. All I can say is that, “one does not simply walk into [Ontario].” Take us home, Boromir!

Daily prompt: Moments to Remember

Here’s the daily prompt for today: Moments to Remember

I sure have a lot of memories! One of the best memories is of my birthday present last year. My sister went above and beyond to get me an autograph of Sean Astin (he played Sam in the LOTR movies)…as well as a birthday video greeting from him!!!! Somehow, she managed to keep it a surprise from me – usually, I know what she’s up to. But, I was in shock and screaming all over the place when she gave me those presents! I will forever treasure those moments. It was also VERY nice of him to record the video. It goes to show you that he really is a good-hearted fellow – well, he was in the fellowship of the ring haha.

It may be a short memory, but it is the intention behind it that makes it special.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Treasure

This is my first post for the Daily Post’s challenge of the week. Go to this page if you’d like to join: http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2014/02/14/photo-challenge-treasure/

There is one treasure I have, love. I took this photo years ago. I love when clouds make this awesome shapes! But this summarizes everything. It is a heart, and to us, heart is a symbol of love.

There aren’t many people who are lucky enough to be loved. We must be grateful that not only we are loved, but that we have the ability TO love. Even when there are times when you feel you can’t love (i.e. heartbreak), others will be there to show you that you are loved. Love can blind you from seeing it, but only love can regain your eyesight. In the end, love can hurt, but only love can heal.

Love comes in different forms. You can love through Faith (if used correctly), family, friends, pets, and even objects. I love my stuffed animals, but obviously not on the same level as I love my family. But, it’s still love. Love is a gift for your comfort. When you really love someone or something, you enter into a dimension where you cannot hurt. That is not to say you cannot GET hurt, but it prevents YOU from hurting someone.

Love should be simple, we should just love one another. But, in the real world, it is complicated. Perhaps, we can try to make it simple. You love, I love, we live happily ever after. Like this turtle…
