The daily post wants to know: What’s your biggest junk food weakness? Tell us all about it in its sugary, salty, glory.
Oh my, if I write about this I will not be able to finish until aliens invade Earth.Right now, I’m drooling just from reading the question. Have you seen Beauty and the Beast before? The scene where Lumière sings ‘Be our Guest’? Okay, I have dreams like that sometimes. Usually, when I’m stressed out and have run out of sweets at my home. One of the worst feelings is going to sleep with a sugar craving.
and this is what I look like when I think I see a cupcake sitting on my desk. Talk about delusional.
But, let’s see now, what kind of junk food do I like? Well, I love Kernels popcorn, Haagen Dazs ice cream, lemon tarts, cakes, cupcakes, and anything that has chocolate. I always keep a stash of different chocolates –you know, because I may want a kinder egg one day, but feel like a cadbury egg the next day — on my desk. I am obsessed with Lindt and Purdy’s chocolates. I do like Cadbury chocolates, but that’s more of a spontaneous purchase when I’m desperate for chocolate. I honestly try not to shove any sugary treats down my throat as often as I used to, and I have learned to balance my junk food intake. It does help! It is possible! A good way I found to help with my cravings, is to have trail mix in my purse. I love trail mix, it is both sweet and salty. That’s my tip for the day 🙂
Oh dear, I have such a sweet tooth. Surprisingly, my dentist told me I have no cavities (well, I don’t eat sugary treats ALL the time). I like lollipops, they’re fun, but they make me cranky. They’re sneaky little treats that scratch your tongue at the right moment. Do they have an artificial mind of their own? Just when you start to enjoy the flavour, it decides to attack. And okay, I wouldn’t mind if the lollipop was the only thing I was eating during the day, but what makes me cranky is that I can’t eat anything afterwards, without the feeling of my tongue being stung by a swarm of wasps.
Here, I thought my ‘period’ was bad. Try getting betrayed by a sugar treat and losing your appetite, because your injured tongue can’t seem to enjoy the foods you want to eat. At least, when you’re on your “day of the month” you can binge on chocolates, pizza, chips, cry, rant, Netflix, all while you roll sideways in your bed. But, there’s no way to get back at this sugary treat. Sure, you can stop eating lollipops once and for all, but like I said, it is very sneaky and you WILL get a craving for it at one point or another.
I still like lollipops and always will, but it seems like you can never win with desserts. You either gain weight or your mouth gets beaten. Oh humans, why couldn’t you create desserts that help you lose weight?
I don’t like bees. Everyone knows that. Am I allergic to bees? Maybe. When I was little (I think 2 years old) I had a reaction to a bee sting, but I haven’t been stung since then (thank goodness!!! I’m in my late 20s now and I hope I never get stung). But, I have my respects to these little (creepy) creatures. They make the best dessert and sweetener in the universe (I say universe, in case aliens don’t have bees), honey!
My palate loves to indulge in its sweet goodness. It has health benefits and you can mix it with foods or eat as is. I LOVE honey with tea. My favourites are chamomile, peppermint, and rooibos tea. I don’t like to put sugar in it, so I put honey. Even if I’m buying it at a coffee shop, I ask for honey. Even when I eat pancakes or waffles, I use honey…and/or maple syrup 😉
Why not treat yourself with such a natural delight? It has wonderful health benefits, and satisfies your sugar cravings! Fine, I still love chocolate, but you know what I mean :D, so don’t ruin this moment!
^^^ This is not a picture of a bee, but still nature :p, and yes I took this picture. I don’t like bees, so I don’t think I’ll ever take a picture of one. I might for the sake of my art, though. We’ll see.
