I love Facebook to pass the time and connect with friends – when we are too lazy to use our cell phones -, but I do worry about privacy. I guess nothing is private no matter where you go, unless it’s your own bathroom and you know for certain there are no hidden cameras. But, if you believe in ghosts, they are probably watching you. You are never ALONE. Scary, isn’t it?
Jokes aside (well, not really), I did a bit of digging on my Facebook profile and I came across my past workplaces. If you know me, my Facebook does not have accurate info regarding my workplace and name. When I’m adding new people, I just ask them to give me THEIR name, because they will never find me.
Here’s my job description I wrote 4 years ago (not when I joined Facebook):
Penguin warrior and sometimes ring bearer (read description) · May 2011 to present
The usual…we rise early, eat, battle Orcs, and try to destroy the ring of power. Frodo can be a bit bossy when he’s in a bad mood…geez, he can be possessive sometimes…He is aware that sometimes he’s under the ring’s spell, and when he’s under it…RUN! Seriously, how many times do we have to tell him that Sauron doesn’t love him, but the ring, before he wakes up from the spell? If it’s not true friendship the reason we’re sticking by him, I don’t know what is… Polishing the ring is NOT allowed.
When you’re at the movies or sitting at home, what do you like to eat while watching your favourite movie? Is it always popcorn? Do you get different cravings?
I mostly like popcorn, corn chips with hot salsa (must be hot or medium), mint chocolate chip ice cream, and sometimes I get this broccoli craving (with or without cheese). I’m not into popcorn with butter as much, but I’ll still eat it if there’s no other choice.
Today, I met a group of Dutch seniors (yeah I totally live life on the edge) who taught me how to say ‘hello,’ ‘how are you,’ and ‘thank you’. They were super friendly and made me want to learn Dutch. Will I ever? Probably not. I’m still on Intermediate French, so by the time I’m fluent and take on Dutch, I’ll probably be a goner. I do like to learn basic greetings in different languages, it helps me appreciate different cultures this way. What is YOUR heritage? Do you speak 1 or 10 languages?
I’m Hispanic, Spanish and French. I speak English, Spanish, basic French, a little bit of Italian and Portuguese (because they’re similar to Spanish). My grandpa’s step dad was Chinese, so I grew up eating Chinese food, but I only know how to say ‘hello,’ ‘thank you’, and ‘goodbye’.
I have tried many times to read on the Elliptical machine, the bike, or while walking on the treadmill. I failed. It wasn’t because I got distracted — although, I do tend to — but it was the motion. I even tried to read in cars before and I couldn’t do it. I don’t get nauseated or anything, but it annoys me.
It is a tough question, because we grow every single day. What you liked yesterday you may not like tomorrow. Let’s face it, we don’t live in a perfect world– believe me, as much as I love to love, I have my sad moments. It all depends on what life brings us. But if I ask you, who are you at this very moment, and If you could use a word or a sentence to tell others who you are, what would that be? It doesn’t have to be complicated nor a soul-searching question, but just the basics of YOU.
This defines me today: I love to laugh and I laugh to love ❤
I always like to ask this question, because I get such variety of answers. So, what motivates you? What inspires you to blog or write outside your blog? Do you prepare before you write? Perhaps, you do a little dance in front of your computer?
