New Poem: Solace

Here’s a new poem I wrote a few weeks ago. Photo taken by me 🙂

Solace

My solace is plague by the noise of your continuous lies ,

And in the prison they have locked me in,

I am consumed by my will to let your memory vanish.

Until they flood me with thoughts of unrealistic promises.

~~~
It rushes through my veins,
How can it be so empty?
when the burden feels so heavy.
How am I letting you divert me from where I was going?
~~~

Am I trapped between two guardians?

Or Am I trapped between two traitors?

I hold my arms out to stop them,

but they had already stepped back twice…Why?

~~~
Is my bidding done,  or am I being held like a puppet?
Jumping through hoops,
falling on rocks,
There are no saviours, just two destroyers.
My latest Poem: “Reaching for the tallest branch”
14721696_10154608920073480_2587126467337769073_n
The words disperse,
and her heart rapidly beats;
as she reaches for the tallest branch.
~~~

It’s not that it is unknown,

it is that she realizes what she once dreamed about

became her present reality.

~~~
The touch, the unbroken promises,
and the assurance that they are whole.
She exhales, she hopes,
as she reaches for the tallest branch.
~~~

The denial that absorbs her insecurities,

she knows in her mind she will fall again,

what can reassure her?

Just herself, as she reaches for the tallest branch.

~~~
and the fear of freeing her patched up heart.
~~~

An apparition that signifies the start of a journey,

that is freeing her patched up heart.

After many failed attempts at healing damaged chapters.

What, if anything, is left for her to give?

~~~
An unfair question to herself.
~~~

It is this moment when she becomes aware,

that everything she is has never left

and the emotional beating was the wall she created.

~~~
What now?
~~~

She once looked in the mirror, in a dream, as an elder.

She faced fear, regret, everything she didn’t want to become.

It haunted her, until she set on to stop it from being her reality.

~~~
She lets go,
she opens up,
she loves again.
She reaches the tallest branch.
A to Z challenge reflections
This A to Z challenge has been a great way to share my thoughts and try to motivate others. My theme was to write a life lesson for each post. Hopefully, I was able to inspire other bloggers out there :). The only thing I didn’t like was that I couldn’t ‘follow’ other bloggers, because their blog was on blogspot, and I don’t have an account there. Other than that, I really don’t have anything negative to say. Yes, it was a challenge, and sometimes I didn’t know what I was going to try about. It was a great thrill and I hope to join other challenges in the future :). Here’s a list of all my entries for you to read if you haven’t already. Go through it, share it, cry, eat ice cream, dance, do whatever you want :p. Thank you to everyone who reads and likes what I write and I encourage each and every one of you to never lose your voice.
100+ followers. Thank YOU!
I just want to say hi to everyone and thank you for joining me on my dorky adventures 😀 (I didn’t know so many people liked my silliness)! I have passed 100 followers and I wanted to show my gratitude. Hopefully, I have and will continue to inspire you as much as you do with YOUR blogs! I will post more content in the next few days. I’ve been adjusting my sleeping schedule.
Here are my 2 latest posts if you haven’t had a chance to read:
What kind of questions do you get asked as a writer?
I find that quite often, when I say I’m a writer, the questions start to pour in. I’m going to post a few questions I often get asked. Feel free to share yours, as well!
1) So, you write during your free time?
-I love how people immediately assume, I’m not a full-time writer — and they’re right! I have my day job, and I write on my days off (mostly).
2) So, you’re going to be the next J.K. Rowling?
-Whenever someone asks me this type of question, they always use J.K. Rowling. I always take it as a compliment, because that means, they can see me becoming a great writer. However, I always say, I’m going to become the next ME. My favourite writers are only my inspirations, and I wouldn’t want to be compared.
3) If you don’t like a character, you can always kill it off!
-As easy as it sounds, “getting rid” of a character is a whole process. I may dislike a character, but I can’t just throw a brick at it, and kick it out of the book. There has to be a motivation behind it, and a purpose. The death of a character changes the course of the whole plot. Then again, writing a character off may be possible, depending on your novel. However, for me, that throws me off completely.
4) You must have like a thousand pages written, right? right? right?
-In an alternate universe, yes! Right now, you don’t want to know how many times, I’ve edited the first chapters.
5) Do you have a writing ritual?
-I always make a cup of tea, and listen to Enya.
6) Do you still use paper?
-Yes, I have a journal where I write my WordPress blog posts, to keep track of them. Whenever I get ideas at random times, I either use my phone or paper. It depends on the situation.
7) What’s your genre? What do you write about? What are you working on?
-My focus is Young Adult fiction/fantasy. I write short stories and poetry. I’m working on a novel that’s meant to be inspirational for future young adults. I’m finishing a short story I started years ago, but never got around to finish. I’ve also been recently inspired by my friends, so I’m working on a short story based on our conversation. These short stories will be posted here, soon!
Of course! The world doesn’t rule me today!
