Daily prompt: Moments to Remember

Here’s the daily prompt for today: Moments to Remember

I sure have a lot of memories! One of the best memories is of my birthday present last year. My sister went above and beyond to get me an autograph of Sean Astin (he played Sam in the LOTR movies)…as well as a birthday video greeting from him!!!! Somehow, she managed to keep it a surprise from me – usually, I know what she’s up to. But, I was in shock and screaming all over the place when she gave me those presents! I will forever treasure those moments. It was also VERY nice of him to record the video. It goes to show you that he really is a good-hearted fellow – well, he was in the fellowship of the ring haha.

It may be a short memory, but it is the intention behind it that makes it special.

Random Photo of the Day #2…with a Story Starter!

First of all, thank you to all of you for reading my posts! You are all wonderful! So, here’s a photo dedicated to YOU. I took it a few years back – I didn’t realize how interesting my life was years ago – on an ordinary day. I don’t remember exactly what I was doing, but it looks like I was on my usual walks around my neighbourhood (in Vancouver). All I remember is looking up at the sky and thinking, “Boy, that sure looks like a heart. I should take a pic!” So, I did! Nature has beautiful ways to remind you that the world has a lot of goodness in it. We all deserve to be happy and loved, and to think we are worthy; because we all are.

Your story starter is four words that you can use to write about something that is good about you, or that you love. You can comment, write or just think about it. I always say, “count your Blessings, not your mishaps”. There’s a lot of evil in this world, so it’s good to remind ourselves of the good within us.

Story Starter: I am… I love…

Is love too much to ask for?

The world’s lack of true love perforates my mind and soul. Have we become hermits from the fear of loving endlessly, or have we been too damaged that we’ve given up on love?

Perhaps it is our desire to love, not because we want all the love for ourselves, but because we’re selfless. We become excited at the idea of sharing our passions, thoughts, and struggles, that we become blind to those who will end up inflicting pain, and shattering our hearts into a million pieces. How long can one withstand glueing these fallen pieces, until one collapses in despair, wishing for love to disappear?

What is it that scares people away? Is it that one is perhaps too good, it becomes intimidating? Or do they fear, they’ll give up their own desires? Is it that they/we are afraid of a perfect world; here there’s no wrongdoing, where there’s no pain, where there’s no despair?

These questions shouldn’t even be asked. But there’s hope, we’ll all find the love we’re looking for; romance, friendship, family, nature, the universe.

Fear should not be in the same place as love, and love shouldn’t replace your past, present, and future. It is what helps us stick together, it is a band of unity and comfort that’s there to remind us, we mean something to someone, or that we mean good for someone or something. It shouldn’t be hard to love, and it should be simple to take a leap of faith. It becomes tiring wishing, praying, hoping that the love we share will reciprocate.

Is love too much to ask for? Is an answer too much to hope for?

Weekly Photo Challenge: Treasure

This is my first post for the Daily Post’s challenge of the week. Go to this page if you’d like to join: http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2014/02/14/photo-challenge-treasure/

There is one treasure I have, love. I took this photo years ago. I love when clouds make this awesome shapes! But this summarizes everything. It is a heart, and to us, heart is a symbol of love.

There aren’t many people who are lucky enough to be loved. We must be grateful that not only we are loved, but that we have the ability TO love. Even when there are times when you feel you can’t love (i.e. heartbreak), others will be there to show you that you are loved. Love can blind you from seeing it, but only love can regain your eyesight. In the end, love can hurt, but only love can heal.

Love comes in different forms. You can love through Faith (if used correctly), family, friends, pets, and even objects. I love my stuffed animals, but obviously not on the same level as I love my family. But, it’s still love. Love is a gift for your comfort. When you really love someone or something, you enter into a dimension where you cannot hurt. That is not to say you cannot GET hurt, but it prevents YOU from hurting someone.

Love should be simple, we should just love one another. But, in the real world, it is complicated. Perhaps, we can try to make it simple. You love, I love, we live happily ever after. Like this turtle…

Who is she that dwells in such realms

She was not worried. The day was pleasant. She sat on the edge of the grassy hill, stroking her wavy black hair, using her fingers. Her hairbrush was lost on the way up the hill. Usually, she doesn’t condone such rough ways of brushing her hair, but her desperation of maintaining it called for it. Not many things were left in her backpack. After all, the hill was a route she did not expect to take.

Her plan was to run through the forest in search for wild fruit. But an unusual mint-coloured leaf caught her attention, and she followed it, as it was blown by the wind. It was after a good ten minute run, when the leaf came to a full stop. She picked it up and noticed a ray of sunshine poking both of her eyes. Curiosity got the best of her, and she walked and then ran, until she reach the top of the hill. The hill was not too high, but enough to create an in-depth view of the fields surrounding it. She was worried of her return home, but she figured it would be easy to follow back.

As she gazed upon the fields, she felt a small shutter, then a noise approaching. It got loud enough for her to tell it was a train. It was coming from the right side, and she looked as it approached. To her amazement, it was not a passenger train, but a cargo train. She almost did not pay attention, because she thought it was an ordinary train, bringing goods into town, as usual. But, she saw in the wagons an abundance of mint-coloured leafs, just like the one she picked up. For a moment, she thought it’d be good to drop the leaf she caught into the wagons, but she decided to keep it. She felt special, like the wind brought her to that spot for a purpose. She witnessed such rarity, that all the worries in her life escaped from her.

The train was far away by now, but she could not stop staring at it, as it ventured off to an unknown destination. She crossed her legs and placed her backpack on her lap. She was thinking of a safe place to keep this new leaf, so she put it inside the small front pocket. Now, it was time for her to find her way back. She stood up and put on her backpack. Just as she was about to walk down the hill, the wind started to pick up. She looked up and there was only a cloud in sight. It almost looked like it was shaped in the form of a heart. She didn’t think much of it, so she kept walking down the hill, and looked up one more time. It was in the shape of a heart. She smiled and changed her route again. She felt the wind was about to embark her on a new adventure.
