I got some beauty products today

I get a lot of my products from Fruits and Passions, but today I went to The Face Shop for the first time. I’ve heard good reviews and wanted to give a try. First of all, I only wear make-up when I have to, but I try not to (maybe this is why I still get carded). However, I love perfumes, creams,  scented body washes, etc. At work, my co-workers always tell me they know when I entered the building, because of the good smell :p. So here are few things I bought after sampling at The Face Shop (Korean company).

This is the bag they gave me. The crumpled bag look is my fault :p

These are cleansing wipes. I’m IN LOVE with them!! I tried the Rice and Olive wipes, but in the end I went with the Herb Day wipes. They feel natural, fresh, and the scent is not strong.  I used the testers to remove the foundation I tried on, and it worked fast and well.

I sampled this foundation at the store and it blended very well with my skin. My skin is sensitive so I’m always on the lookout for soft products.

These are facial masks. I bought just one to try and it leaves my skin feeling soft. The only thing is be careful when you remove the mask from the package; it is VERY damped.

I bought their nail polish remover. I haven’t tried it, but the smell is not strong like other removers out there.

If you ever go there, be sure to ask for a sample package if they forget to give you one. This is the one I got :). If you get one of this, please keep the package, because it has instructions in English 😀 (unless you can read Korean).

The only thing I was hesitant to buy was their shampoos and conditioners, because they’re not sulfate-free. I wouldn’t mind trying them, but my hair is used to Aveeno’s Sulfate-Free products, and I don’t know if I should change or not. My hair is needy and it can go from looking like it’s ready for a shampoo commercial to a drunk Medusa. If you’re looking for shampoos, I do recommend Aveeno! I love the scent it leaves on my hair and the way it feels afterwards! But, like I said I may try The Face Shop’s hair products just to see how they feel.

I’ll let you know!  But, I can say my experience today was great. Their employees were helpful and kind. I’ll definitely go back to try more products!

A creature that lurks in the corners of scalps. It does not have a specific target nor time when it strikes. It just becomes one of those days, a bad hair day. Oh, the horror!

I try not to have bad hair days, but my hair has a mind of its own. I don’t use hairspray or weird chemicals, because it makes it ten times worse. To be honest, my hair can sometimes look better upon waking, than after I brush it. I keep my hair shoulder-length, so I won’t have to use hair bands. I use hair clips to keep in balanced, but most of the time I wear it loose and straight. My natural hair is curly, but after straightening for a long time, it has become wavy. I love it that way, but sadly it gets on the way of daily activities. For example, when I eat, my hair apparently gets hungry, too and finds its way on my food. Totally gross, but hey, at least it’s MY hair and not others’.

My friends think I like to try different hairstyles throughout the day, but the truth is, my hair just morphs into different shapes, and it doesn’t matter whether I stay still or move -and you thought Medusa looked creepy- but I hope one day my hair will behave. The good news is, hats suit me, and hat hair seems to keep my hair on a time-out for a moment.

Haircuts – Freedom

There is something liberating about getting a haircut. I don’t like my hair long, so as soon as I start to tie it, I know it’s time to get a haircut. I always cut it shoulder-length, and straighten it. This time, however, I decided to go with side bangs. I mean, it is hair, right? If I don’t look good in them, I’ll let my hair grow and fix it. But, they turned out to be quite good! I love my hair stylist. She’s awesome!

As I was saying, it feels like regained freedom, like a new chapter you have begun. It’s something that sets you a bit off-track from your daily routine, but quickly pulls you back. I take it as a new adventure.

stanI’m embarking on a new journey. I’m going to embrace this and test the waters…that is until I have to put a hat on, then I’ll end up with hat hair, which looks like the picture below…

Of course! The world doesn’t rule me today 😀

PS: I took those pictures. Like I said before, I’m going to share a bit of my photography :p
