Ellie’s Kingdom of NOPE

Hi everyone! Hope the weekend is treating you well. I’m doing good, just a bit tired :). The weather has been mild, but definitely better than the past 3 months! I’ll enjoy this while it lasts ;).

I may be a positive person, but that doesn’t mean I love everything (although I do try to). Rarely you will see me get upset, but when you do, you know I mean business. So, here are some things that bother me.

Kingdom of NOPE

1) The animals I am still not fond of, such as snakes, spiders, chameleons (their eyes creep me out), bees (if they stay far away from me, I’m cool), skunks, and other animals I can’t think of at the moment. It’s not like I wish they didn’t exist, I just don’t want them near me.

2) People who take up all the space in public places. This includes, sidewalks, malls, supermarkets, etc. They think public places are sardine cans, and okay at some of them you don’t have an option, but when you have a lot of space, there is no excuse. Think of others people! Oh, don’t even get me starting on 4 generations of a family who walk SIDE BY SIDE, leaving absolutely no space for anyone to walk by. When you do pass them, they stare at you as if you were the devil himself coming to collect their souls.

3) Smelly people. Take a shower, please. Basic hygiene doesn’t cost much, and if you can afford a car, you can afford a shower. I can only stand so much pestilence before I loose all sense of smell.

4) My period. That is all.

http://reactiongifs.com/?p=2854

5) Holes. I wouldn’t go as far as to say I have trypophobia, but it’s getting there.

http://reactiongifs.com/?p=8577

6) Sudden loud noises. This includes any type of noise; motorcycle, teenagers screaming for no reason, hand dryers, trucks. etc. I still want to understand why teenagers scream like maniacs. I don’t remember being this way. What the heck are they putting in their water?

7) Entitled people. Seriously, the world is not your throne.

http://reactiongifs.com/?p=18953

8) When my in-ear headphones becomes my worst enemy. How do they get tangled without touching it? Are they alive? Oh and the worst part, when you break them after untangling. Yea, definitely the devil’s tool.

9) When people use gyms as a dating service.

I’m going to the gym tonight! Yea right…

The thought is what counts…that’s what I’m telling myself right now to justify not going to the gym tonight. I woke up and told myself I was going to go to a gym class after work and I was going to rock it!

http://reactiongifs.com/?p=19739

Yup, that didn’t happen. I had a long, but awesome day at work! I’m not complaining at all, but as soon as  I got home I was done for the day! I’m still going to exercise, I just won’t do an intense gym class :p. But, I can totally see myself exercising this way right now:

I don’t want to push myself too hard, so I listen to what my body says. Today my body says, do not push it, and so I won’t. Does this happen to you?

Through the eyes of my childhood: Chapter Three – Prankster

This is Chapter 3 of a series I started a while back, where I tell a story from my childhood and find similarities to who I am today.

Prankster

You know by now that I used to…fine, I still am, but not as much…be a hyper girl. I kept myself busy, recited poetry in front of relatives, teased my sister, and of course played pranks on others. I wasn’t a mean prankster or anything, I meant no harm, I just wanted to tease.

http://reactiongifs.com/?p=19619

I did the prank calls, scared my friends, the coin on the ground prank, etc. One that  I will never forget is the gum prank I played on my older cousin. I filled gum with non-toxic (because that somehow makes it less evil) ink and brought it with me to his house. He was my target, because he used to tease me, and I wanted him to get a taste of his own medicine (remember, I was young). I offered him gum, but I told him not to swallow the juice — see? I wasn’t that bad — and he took the gum.

Soon after his sister and I started laughing, his mouth was covered in blue ink. He knew something wasn’t right, so he ran to the nearest mirror. He screamed and yelled for my uncle to come.  I knew I was going to get in trouble. My uncle tried not to laugh when he saw him, and you won’t believe what he said, “Suck it up! It’s just a prank.” I was speechless, he was okay with it? Well, not entirely, he did told me not to do it again, but he heard of the prank and knew it wasn’t dangerous. I was content that my prank actually worked, and my cousin didn’t forgive me for a while, but we moved on.

Today, I still play pranks, but they’re pretty harmless. I like to prank my best friend into thinking her phone network is messed up, by sending her the same text message 20 times in a row. Sometimes, I even play pranks without even noticing. She loves monkeys like I love penguins (probably why we get along so well), and she has one on her room ceiling, just hanging around (I did not notice for a long time). One day we were on her computer and while I was waiting for her to finish, I looked up and saw the monkey, I literally screamed so loud that my friend thought I was dying. No joke. I laughed so hard after. It’s like I play pranks without even trying :p

And this is me throwing a performance :p

What’s up with Mother Nature?

Oh Mother Nature, you’re always up to something, aren’t you? You didn’t stopped after you gave us a terrible winter — did I mention before my vacation, I slipped and hit my back and head? I was okay, though — you had to delay Spring and kept giving us snow while my friends enjoyed the beach and sunshine. Just when I thought things were going to get better, they actually did! The forecast for today was 15 C and it really was. I could not believe my eyes, I thought I was looking at the weather in Vancouver, or my ipod was broken. I put on a hoodie and went to the bank…BIG MISTAKE.

http://reactiongifs.com/?p=18942

I felt a bit of wind when I left my place, but I did not think too much about it. I was overwhelmed by the warmth I felt. I really thought I was dreaming or that I was suddenly transported to Florida —okay, I know it wasn’t that hot, but it felt that way compared to the awful winter we had— I felt happy, I felt like all the troubles in life left me. I was singing tunes and skipping by the front yard (okay, not really).

http://whatshouldblondegirlscallme.tumblr.com/post/48054036041/when-its-finally-not-snowing-in-april

And then Mother Nature decided to crush my spirits by sending a hurricane-like wind all over the city. It’s like Mother Nature here in Ontario is on eternal PMS.

But, I didn’t let that get me down. I told myself I was going to enjoy this walk even if I were to be swept by the wind. I pretty much did. The ENTIRE walk to the bank and to the market,  my hair was tangling, my hoodie almost flew away, and my glasses (yes, I wear glasses) did not protect me against the dirty dust. It is my day off today and I just wanted to go for a walk and relax, but nope, that wasn’t going to happen. I have to admit it was hilarious trying to escape the gusting winds, but Ontarian Mother Nature just loves to poke fun at me, and sometimes I just want to be left alone. Poor Sun, it comes out and shines down on us, and we can’t even enjoy its company. Seriously, what the heck Mother Nature? I’m about to lose it.

Overcoming my fear of bugs…as told by gifs

I saved a bug today and threw it outside…or so I thought (read HERE) .  Well here’s how it went, as told by GIFs. Credit for the GIFs goes to: http://www.reactiongifs.com/ and http://www.cutecatgifs.com/

1) I asked myself, why me, and why my room?

http://reactiongifs.com/?p=19694

2) I wasn’t afraid, but I still cried a little inside. I knew I had to overcome this and be done with it.

http://reactiongifs.com/?p=19690

3) So, I masterminded a plan and attacked…I mean I trapped the bug in a bag

http://gifs.tv/8uz

4) I thought I had trapped it and went outside to release it, but when I came back I saw it on the wall again. I was crushed (okay, I’m exaggerating).

http://reactiongifs.com/?p=19617

5)) I was mostly confused. I thought for sure it was in the bag I used. What the heck, bug?

http://reactiongifs.com/?p=7113

6) But I just went “whatever” and didn’t let it get to me

7) I realized I finally overcame my fear of bugs! I guess it helped the bug didn’t bite.

8) In the end, I did a little celebration dance
