Quaker – A to Z challenge

A to Z challenge letter: Quaker

Quaker

Question of the day, what do you usually eat for breakfast? What is your favourite breakfast? On my days off I usually treat myself to one of my favourite breakfasts. This is not only because whatever I eat in that morning, I’ll burn after at the gym, but because it is always good to treat yourself. I can get bored easily, so I’m always eating differently, but most of the time I’ll indulge in Quaker Maple & Brown Sugar oatmeal (or berry flavour). I love maple syrup, and not because I’m Canadian. Oatmeal is warm, sweet, and fulfilling,  so what else can you ask for? Well, except for tea of course :p. One of my favourite breakfast consists of: sausages with maple syrup, harsh browns, scrambled eggs, strawberries and a glass of orange juice or coconut milk. I know, it’s a lot :p, but what the heck, I eat them in small portions. Treat yourself once in a while, especially to your favourite breakfast :). Not everyone has the privilege of waking up.

Lollipops make me cranky, but I still like them

Oh dear, I have such a sweet tooth. Surprisingly, my dentist told me I have no cavities (well, I don’t eat sugary treats ALL the time). I like lollipops, they’re fun, but they make me cranky. They’re sneaky little treats that scratch your tongue at the right moment. Do they have an artificial mind of their own? Just when you start to enjoy the flavour, it decides to attack. And okay, I wouldn’t mind if the lollipop was the only thing I was eating during the day, but what makes me cranky is that I can’t eat anything afterwards, without the feeling of my tongue being stung by a swarm of wasps.

Here, I thought my ‘period’ was bad. Try getting betrayed by a sugar treat and losing your appetite, because your injured tongue can’t seem to enjoy the foods you want to eat. At least, when you’re on your “day of the month” you can binge on chocolates, pizza, chips, cry, rant, Netflix, all while you roll sideways in your bed. But, there’s no way to get back at this sugary treat. Sure, you can stop eating lollipops once and for all, but like I said, it is very sneaky and you WILL get a craving for it at one point or another.

I still like lollipops and always will, but it seems like you can never win with desserts. You either gain weight or your mouth gets beaten. Oh humans, why couldn’t you create desserts that help you lose weight?

My top 10 favourite snacks

I’m a bit (just a bit) picky when it comes to food, but one thing I love is snacking! Whether I snack while I watch a movie, to satisfy cravings, or to stop myself from drooling over Robert Downey Jr, snacking is quick and fun (at least to me). So, here’s my top 10 list. I was going to write 5, but I didn’t want a snack to attack me during my sleep feel like a leftover (haha get it?). Well, of course I can’t include every single snack I like, but here are the ones I like to indulge in the most, in no particular order:

~~~
1. Anything that has nuts and peanuts (thank goodness I have no allergies). This includes trail mix.
2. Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and frozen blueberries
3. Popcorn (not microwaved)
4. Nutella and chocolate(when I have a sugar craving)
5. Broccoli, corn, and peas mixed together
6. Cheese and crackers
7. Cheerios with almond or coconut milk
8. Boiled eggs
9. Greek Yogurt
10. Honey
