Poetry: A Dark Herd

Image

Pure darkness above the trail
by the end where there is shame
down the bridge where people fail
but then who is to blame?

~~~
The herd will make seamless paths
underneath a field of dust
to hide their own wrath
neither of them knows who to trust.
~~~

Stuck in their own pile
who will go and who will stay
some will say they’re vile
but there are those who have their own say.

~~~
Trapped in an earthly shell
where the curious will open and break free
it’s part of their dwell
some of them will make a plea.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Twist
*sings* Come on baby, let’s do the twist, take my little hand and go like this. Now that we have broken the ice by singing to Chubby Checker, we can now move on to this week’s photo challenge. The Daily Post wants to know, “What does ‘twist’ means to you?”
Nature is a perfect twist maker. I love hearts and I often tend to find these shapes around nature
Sometimes, your hands and arms don’t cooperate when you’re trying to take a picture, but if you look at the bright side, the results can create a mysterious feeling! The second photo below is a combination of two photos. The background is very much the original and the people were taken from another photo (of the same set of pictures) where two people turned out looking like shadows/ghosts :p.
What’s it like being a daydreamer?
First of all, I’m not crazy, I know the difference between reality and fantasy. Still, I do get asked where my imagination comes from or how do I feel when I a vivid daydreams. Here’s a short explanation of a few things I go through:
1) I may be a daydreamer, but I do listen to what you’re telling me. I’m just picturing your situation in mind as you tell the story. Which is why I often get told by my friends, “I would’ve never thought of it that way! Thanks!”
2) No, I do not ‘hear’ voices. I imagine my crush asking me out and things like that, but I know he didn’t just do so. Again, I’m aware when I’m daydreaming. Otherwise, I’d be at a mental facility.
3) Concentration isn’t always easy, but it is possible to manage. It isn’t always easy to pay attention to things you’re not interested in (but things you must learn).  This is one of the reasons I walk a lot. I need to keep my mind balanced.
4) It does help your memory. There are many things I remember that my friends don’t (how they made a fool of themselves this one time), and that’s because it replayed in my mind over and over, like a movie or story.
5) Even though concentration is often a problem, with the right amount of silence it is easy to get into writing mode. The problem is getting out of it. It feels like the moment the movie ends at the theatre and you know the magic is over. It does get you down, I’m telling you.
6) Comfort drinks and ice cream are my go-to buddies, when no one is available. My mind does get tired and drinks and ice cream get it going, when sleep is not an immediate option.
7)  Daydreaming helps to deal with situations that might make you lose sleep over.
8) It makes life interesting whenever you’re having a good or bad day. If I’m having an awesome day, the excitement gets so high I could hug a spider. However, on a gloomy day, I often picture myself buying a ticket to leave the planet and galaxy.  I think this applies to most people, but for a daydreamer, this is life. It is also easy to switch back and forth between daydreams.  Do not confuse this with mood swings, though.
9) Writing can be a good escape and so is daydreaming. It gives you a bit of hope in life, if you don’t have someone to talk to at a specific moment.
A kiss welcomed me home!
There’s nothing like coming home to relax and forget the stress in life. In the midst of all troubles, it is nice when I’m welcome into my house with a kiss…a Hershey’s chocolate kiss that is! It is a great alternative to eating a whole chocolate bar – there are those days when I really need to devour one, though – but it’s sweet, delicious and satisfying. It also helps that the unwrapping process does not require of your muscles, and you can start eating one in two seconds. I love anything that has chocolate, but I’m not a big fan of dark or pure chocolate; they’re too strong for me. Seriously, why is it that the healthy sweets are the ones that taste the worst? Life is twisted, I’m telling you.
Have a Happy Friday everyone! Be safe and satisfy those chocolate cravings 😀
Poem – Jumbled Soul
Image
Jumbled Soul
When wrapped in screaming thorns
where the light is blocked by solitude
trials with abundant errors
without the will of recouping hope
~~~

The enervate emotion of a jumbled soul

perpetuates its most splendid wishes

to dangle from its potential fulfilment

and falsely misinform its heart and mind

~~~
Without the effort to console its true destiny
it dissipates from its surroundings
eluding its self-worth
and endangering its serendipity
~~~

It must pause and rely on instinct

and cautiously proceed onto the next path

embracing its perspective

as to attain its safest pace

~~~
