Zone – A to Z Challenge

A to Z challenge final letter: Z

Zone

I love my own space, and it is not news to those who know me. I do well with crowds, but only if I have enough space for myself. If I know you, you can be close to me, but if you’re a random stranger (and it certainly does not help if you reek) then it’s best not to come close. I’ve always been this way and unfortunately, I can’t change it. I’m sorry, I just don’t like random people rubbing against me. I love to give hugs, so if you receive a hug from me, you know you are in my comfort zone :p. I don’t know if it’s a defensive mechanism, paranoia, or just a natural annoyance, but I can’t seem to change it, so I have accepted it. I do like to get out of my comfort zone, but I don’t like my space being overrun. You can say there is a bit of paranoia (I prefer to call it being alert), after all, whenever I walk alone in the evening, I am equipped to defend myself against creepers (it’s not like I live in an unsafe area. In fact, it is very safe, but you never know, right?).My word of advice, be cautious, respect your zone, and be sure that others do so, as well. Our world today is not as safe as it used to be, and we need to be aware of that. Live life, get out of your comfort zone once in a while, and do not be afraid to stay in it if you must.

And this my friends is the last post for the A to Z challenge :). It’s been a lot of fun, and I hope you enjoyed them and learned something!

Ellie’s Kingdom of NOPE

Hi everyone! Hope the weekend is treating you well. I’m doing good, just a bit tired :). The weather has been mild, but definitely better than the past 3 months! I’ll enjoy this while it lasts ;).

I may be a positive person, but that doesn’t mean I love everything (although I do try to). Rarely you will see me get upset, but when you do, you know I mean business. So, here are some things that bother me.

Kingdom of NOPE

1) The animals I am still not fond of, such as snakes, spiders, chameleons (their eyes creep me out), bees (if they stay far away from me, I’m cool), skunks, and other animals I can’t think of at the moment. It’s not like I wish they didn’t exist, I just don’t want them near me.

2) People who take up all the space in public places. This includes, sidewalks, malls, supermarkets, etc. They think public places are sardine cans, and okay at some of them you don’t have an option, but when you have a lot of space, there is no excuse. Think of others people! Oh, don’t even get me starting on 4 generations of a family who walk SIDE BY SIDE, leaving absolutely no space for anyone to walk by. When you do pass them, they stare at you as if you were the devil himself coming to collect their souls.

3) Smelly people. Take a shower, please. Basic hygiene doesn’t cost much, and if you can afford a car, you can afford a shower. I can only stand so much pestilence before I loose all sense of smell.

4) My period. That is all.

5) Holes. I wouldn’t go as far as to say I have trypophobia, but it’s getting there.

http://reactiongifs.com/?p=8577

6) Sudden loud noises. This includes any type of noise; motorcycle, teenagers screaming for no reason, hand dryers, trucks. etc. I still want to understand why teenagers scream like maniacs. I don’t remember being this way. What the heck are they putting in their water?

7) Entitled people. Seriously, the world is not your throne.

8) When my in-ear headphones becomes my worst enemy. How do they get tangled without touching it? Are they alive? Oh and the worst part, when you break them after untangling. Yea, definitely the devil’s tool.

9) When people use gyms as a dating service.

What’s up with Mother Nature?

Oh Mother Nature, you’re always up to something, aren’t you? You didn’t stopped after you gave us a terrible winter — did I mention before my vacation, I slipped and hit my back and head? I was okay, though — you had to delay Spring and kept giving us snow while my friends enjoyed the beach and sunshine. Just when I thought things were going to get better, they actually did! The forecast for today was 15 C and it really was. I could not believe my eyes, I thought I was looking at the weather in Vancouver, or my ipod was broken. I put on a hoodie and went to the bank…BIG MISTAKE.

I felt a bit of wind when I left my place, but I did not think too much about it. I was overwhelmed by the warmth I felt. I really thought I was dreaming or that I was suddenly transported to Florida —okay, I know it wasn’t that hot, but it felt that way compared to the awful winter we had— I felt happy, I felt like all the troubles in life left me. I was singing tunes and skipping by the front yard (okay, not really).

And then Mother Nature decided to crush my spirits by sending a hurricane-like wind all over the city. It’s like Mother Nature here in Ontario is on eternal PMS.

But, I didn’t let that get me down. I told myself I was going to enjoy this walk even if I were to be swept by the wind. I pretty much did. The ENTIRE walk to the bank and to the market,  my hair was tangling, my hoodie almost flew away, and my glasses (yes, I wear glasses) did not protect me against the dirty dust. It is my day off today and I just wanted to go for a walk and relax, but nope, that wasn’t going to happen. I have to admit it was hilarious trying to escape the gusting winds, but Ontarian Mother Nature just loves to poke fun at me, and sometimes I just want to be left alone. Poor Sun, it comes out and shines down on us, and we can’t even enjoy its company. Seriously, what the heck Mother Nature? I’m about to lose it.

Random Photo of the Day…with a story starter!

Oh yes, let me introduce you to my new blog feature! It’s simple, I’ll post random photos I’ve taken in the past, present, and future (okay, I know, that’s not possible, but pfft, don’t ruin my moment) and add a story starter. Here’s hoping it’ll inspire you to write even more :).

The photo: I took this years ago at the Harry Potter Deathly Hallows book midnight release!

The creature’s name: I don’t know, but we’ll name him Hepburn (you can tell who my favourite actress is).

Why does Hepburn look upset?: In reality, he probably doesn’t like to be touched (notice the hand?). In my world, I think it’s because of the GRILLING book behind him. Take a look, it’s inside the purple heart. So, I totally understand his indignation.

Story starter: Hepburn’s indignation engulfed its subconsciousness into brutal annoyance…

Of course! The world doesn’t rule me today!
