Ellie’s Question Corner: Are you able to read while in the car or during a workout?

I have tried many times to read on the Elliptical machine, the bike, or while walking on the treadmill. I failed. It wasn’t because I got distracted — although, I do tend to — but it was the motion. I even tried to read in cars before and I couldn’t do it. I don’t get nauseated or anything, but it annoys me.

How about you?

  1. I’ve been running on the treadmill with my phone sitting against the console, so i can read the subtitles of foreign movies on it, keeps me distracted from the exercise and makes it enjoyable 🙂

  2. I can read in the car, but I’ve never tried reading while working out! Unless reading subtitles on the little tv in front of the treadmill counts.. If so the motion doesn’t bother me 🙂

    • So jealous! I wish I could read in the car. Even when I was little, I was only able to listen to music and read the writing on my CDs haha (oh the good old days), but never reading. When I read txts in the car (when I’m a passenger, just to clarify that lol), it is okay, I can handle that :p

  3. Well, I can read in the car. I was glued to my books in the car when I was a teenager, even reading by the light of the lighpoles in the dark. I don’t exercise so can’t say if I could read while working out!
